Can I use the law to eliminate my debt completely?

eliminate debt
Dave asked:

I know there are laws on the books to eliminate debt but I don’t know them. Does anyone out there know them? In addition, HSBC Bank is constantly calling me. Is there anyone out there who has had or is having trouble with HSBC and its collection practices?

It’s called the Federal bankruptcy laws.

Are you actually talking to HSBC when they call or are they just leaving messages? Laws are different for the original creditor and third party collectors, but even collection agencies can call multiple times every day if they are only leaving messages on your machine. If they actually talk to you, they can only call once.

Paying them would probably stop all the collection activities.
