What was the point of the new stage at the RNC convention tonight?

RNC
caldude1010101 asked:

All we saw was the head and shoulders of McCain for 45 minutes.

If I were a donor to the RNC, I doubt that I would be very happy to see my money being spent in that manner. That new stage must have costed $30,000-$40,000 including the costs to demo the old one and get this one in place by this morning.

John likes the Town Hall format were he is amongst his constituants. The stage was set up to reflect that. Also, John has limited use of his jaw due to injuries sustained during his years as a POW. he needed the people to be close to him because he is not able to speak very loudly.

Oh boy, didn’t you hear Sarah last night, don’t you get the point?
THERE WERE NO COLUMNS.

’nuff said.

Right?

You have microphones that would have made a pin drop sound like a bomb, his jaw wasn’t the problem, the low turnout has left people wondering at the empty seats, so this way he could be photographed with people all around him.

mike Says:

yeah , they should’ve spent the money on birth control pills-doh !

go O-Bama roll tide !!

steelegrave Says:

Excuse me? Obama(peace be unto him) built the Roman coliseum in a completely seperate arena and your calling out the Reps on this issue? Is that all you got? If that’s it I fear your party is not stong enough to prevail on a national stage.

McCain '08 Says:

what do you care? unlike obama the RNC wasn’t paid for with public funds. you need to stay focused on the money your messiah is wasting.

the stage was to put McCain in the middle of the people.

Michelle M Says:

And the cost for the DNC to set up at BOTH the Pepsi Center AND Invesco Field was how much?

king_geoian13 Says:

Actually, they were trying to allude to the fact that McCain is speaking within his Delegation, rather than in front of them. It kind of removes the feeling of Subjugation by blending the Nominee into the Party Base. It’s something that some of the state parties have been doing recently. Makes for good photo ops too.
