Your government bailout or just long-term debt for your children?

debt bailout
warrior asked:

Do you like being given money that will cost your lifetime and the lifetimes of your children to refund it? What we really need are price controls now and wake up calls for our politicians; with an emphasis on who WE are: the PEOPLE!

I love being given money. I like earning it too.
Nobody is giving me anything.

All this deficit spending is stealing from our children, But I don’t see how it follows that price controls would have any positive results.

Every time they have done price & wage controls in the country and in the world, it has failed. The Nixon tried to do price controls and it failed. What we need to do is just stop giving money out like it grows on trees. If companies can fly to D.C. in big jets then they can pay their own way out because the jets are HORSESHIT in my opinion, sell those damn jets and make them pay their own debt. Price controls don’t work and never will, sorry buddy.

Just as “simulus” packages do not improve the economy long-term (New Deal did not work, Japan tried it in the 90’s and it did not work, Carter tried it in part in the late 70’s and it did not work), price controls do not work either. Nixon tried it in the early 70’s.

I wish our politicians would learn from history and implement what works. That said, tax cuts and reasonable gov’t regulation work to get an economy going (Reagan did it). Deficits over time will destroy the country. We need tax cuts, reasonable regulation and balanced budgets.

I doesn’t do any good to bail out the big businesses when they take the money and go on vacations for $400,000.00, with the money we give them. All we are doing is the paying the rich to keep up itheir lifestyles.

Prices do need to come down on SOME things. I have been looking at buying a vehicle. All of the vehicles I have been looking at are way too expensive. The first question I ask them is “how much are the incentives and rebates?”. The only incentives they are giving is $1500.00, and it is coming from the manufacturers. The dealerships are not giving any kind of rebates because they are not selling cars. People can’t afford them in this economy so someone needs to back off and realize that if they come down a little they will sell quite a bit more cars.

The cheapest car I have found was advertised as $9995.00. I took off early Friday to go to the car lot and make the purchase, becasue I have been approved by both our credit unions. When i got there and was sitting in the car, he said as you can see it is standard. I said that would not be a problem, even my 16 year old daughter drives a stick. He said, ” since you didn’t ask, I didn’t say anything, but I have to tell you that this car does not come with air conditiong”. I was totally pissed, no air conditiong in south Texas, are yo ukidding me. I got out of the car, climbed into my van and started backing up while he was still talking to me, after i went into the showroom and made a scene by telling him that Chevrolet doesn’t need money from congress when they won’t come down on the prices of vehicles.

It is totally ridiculous to be paying on a vehicle long after it has lost all of it’s value. The dealerships think by extending the note to 5 and 6 and 7 years, that will help people pay for them. All it does is keep you paying the price they want for their over-priced vehicles.

Reatgan did the same thing Bush did, he brought the working man down. The president that hadd us out of debt compeletely was one that I voted for the first time, but couldn’t stand when he ran a second term. The second term I certainly did not vote for him, but like I said, he took us comepletely out of debt. That man was Bill Clinton (maybe it was the woman behind the man actually). LOL !!!

THE ONLY TIME A POLITICIAN EVEN PRETENDS TO LISTEN TO “we” THE PEOPLE IS AT ELECTION TIME.
as for the bailouts, I believe it to be a two edge sword. what we need now will cause havoc for our loved ones later
6 in one hand and half dozen in the other.

We need more accountabilty from those receiving public tax dollars. They need to show where each and every penny went. It’s agood thing I’m not the President or else I’d be sending a bunch of CEO’s and theor Boards of Directors to the sheriff in New Mexico where they have to wear pink underwear and live in tents. Especially the Bernie Madoff who embezzelled more than $50 billion.
I couldn’t give a sh** how old he is. He wasn’t too old to ruin a lot of peoples lives .
